We believe that Adair High School competed in boys basketball. It is quite possible that baseball and
track were part of the athletic program as well. Currently we do not have any team records or coach's names to share
with you on this page.
We also believe that Adair formed an athletic co-op with its neighbor Industry in the late 1940s and 1950s.
The co-op was called Southeastern.
Boys Track & Field
One male athlete from Adair High carried the banner for the folks of his hometown at the IHSA State Track Meet in 1925.
Clarence H. Carrison placed FIFTH in the 880 yard run in the 1925 IHSA State 'B' Track Meet!!
1924-25B Individual Medalist - Clarence H. Carrison 880 Yard Run

Girls Basketball
The ladies competed in basketball with other schools in the area, at least in the 1930s for certain. An article in the
Macomb Daily Journal, written February 1, 1933, was located by Beau Spencer. It states the following:
"The Brooklyn girls quintet, one of the strongest girls basketball teams in this
section, is to meet the Adair girls team in a basketball program at the Industry High School gym tomorrow
night. The Brooklyn team has lost only one game in three seasons. The Adair team has not lost a game in
two years, though the McDonough team has not played as strong opponents as Brooklyn."
Extra-Curricular Activities
We are also certain that, like many small schools, the folks of Adair valued a good, well-rounded education for their
children..We are confident that band, chorus, and several club activites were offered to the children who attended Adair
High. If you have any of this information to share with us, please follow the directions below.
